Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has urged the Centre to sanction more Kendriya Vidyalayas for Himachal Pradesh.

He met the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar at New Delhi on Thursday evening and put forth the demand.

Javadekar asked the CM to send the proposal for sanctioning Kendriya Vidyalayas after completing all formalities so that they could be sanctioned soon.

Thakur apprised him about the progress of Central University being setup in HP and also informed about the status of land transfer for the University.

He urged him to perform foundation laying stone ceremonies of both campuses at Dehra and Dharamshala at the earliest.

Javadekar assured of all possible assistance to state and added that the foundation stone ceremony of the university would be performed very soon.
